Technology for
a closer look.
Our Richmond office features the Topcon Digital Refraction System and Maestro2 imaging technology to help our doctors evaluate your vision and take a closer look at your eye health.
Topcon Digital
Refraction System
A phoropter is the instrument you look through while your doctor asks which lens makes letters clearer. Our Topcon system changes lenses electronically during this part of the examination, called refraction.
The Topcon CV-5000 uses fast, electronically controlled lens changes and quick prescription comparisons to help your doctor fine-tune your prescription. You guide the process by telling us what looks clearer and more comfortable. Your responses, vision needs, and examination findings help your doctor determine the final prescription.

Topcon Maestro2
OCT & retinal imaging.
Maestro2 combines optical coherence tomography (OCT) with color photographs of the back of the eye. These complementary images help your doctor examine the retina and optic nerve in greater detail.
- OCT scans
- Cross-sectional images show the structure of the retinal layers.
- Retinal photographs
- Color images document the appearance of the back of the eye.
- Information over time
- Measurements and comparison reports can help your doctor assess changes between visits.
Your doctor selects imaging based on your history and examination findings, then explains how the results relate to your care.
